Does this mean that the Lua type function will also return a code? If not,
you should be more careful when you say that it works like lua_type on
p. 34.
On a related note, there's a typo in the manual: a missing \ before \emph
on p. 21 (in the description of lua_tag), talking about the trick of using
the third letter of a type as a unique scalar identifier; in any case,
presumably this trick will be removed (and should have been mentioned
after lua_type, not lua_tag).
By the way, is there a standard way of getting at the tag numbers of the
built-in types without doing something like:
nil_tag = tag(nil)
number_tag = tag(0)
string_tag = tag("")
...
?
