Case-insensitive gsub?

Hi,

Is there any way for `gsub' to match strings without regard to case?
I couldn't find it in the manual.

(BTW, the project I need this for is Lua embedded into the Links web
browser.  http://links.sourceforge.net/links-lua/ )
