We'd like to announce to the Lua community the start of the (codenamed)
Kepler project.
Kepler will continue the work developed by Anna Hester, Roberto
Ierusalimschy and others in the CGILua project.
Kepler will use Lua 5.0 and among other features, will include:
- CGI/ISAPI/Mod_Apache interfaces to the IIS and Apache web servers
- Windows/Linux/Solaris implementations
- Lua bindings for XML, LDAP and SOAP
- A new release of LuaSQL, including support for Postgres, MySQL, ODBC, ADO
and Oracle databases
The Kepler project is sponsored by Fábrica Digital, PUC-Rio and a grant from
FINEP (a Brazilian funding agency). All results from this project will be
available through an open-source license.
