The stuff in /etc is crucial (and in some cases, like bin2c and
compat.lua, should be more central).
The stuff in test that is for demonstration purposes is less interesting,
but should stay until such time as there's a decent tutorial on lua.org
(and I mean there, not lua-users). The stuff in test that is more
to do with language tricks, such as luac.lua and env.lua is much more
interesting, as it shows tricks that are harder to learn (and, being more
language-specific, harder to find in other places).
