I'm with you. It could be one more option.
PHP uses `heredoc´ this way:
$var = <<<IDENTIFIER
anything you want here
IDENTIFIER;

Of course it only handles strings, but '--<<<' would be acceptable.
Maybe Brazilian keyboards are different
It is not 'that' different -- well, not my ABNT2 at least ;)

It is not common as '[[' and ']]' is. So, it would be another option.
