Hiya,

I am utterly sure this has come up in the past, but I can't find it in
the archives.

Does anybody have a handy, little function to htmlify an 8 bit latin1
string?  You know, the kind of substitution of '<' to '&lt;', '&' to
'&amp;', 'ä' to '&auml;', ...
