I don't know if luacom 1.3 introduced a new approach to handle optional
parameters, but I think that the problem lies in the function
tLuaCOMTypeHandler::fillDispParams
At line 943, there's this code:
I had exactly the same problem and implemented a fix exactly like you suggested.
I sent an email to the maintainer, Fabio Mascarenhas, at the time, but don't think I ever heard anything back.
