LUA shell script?

I've been playing around MSH (aka Monad) lately on Windows and I'm
kinda impressed with all you can do with it, but while writing scripts
I tend to want to write them using LUA instead (of course getting
syntax errors). Stupid mistakes, but It got me thinking, it would be
kinda neat to write shell scripts in LUA.
This is just an idea, and all I want to know is if I'm totally off my
rocker. Is this even feasible? Would it be possible to determine what
parts are system commands and what is actual LUA?
