Hi Roberto,
- Should we offer it through "regular" ebook stores (e.g., ebook.com,
mobipocket)? (It is amazing that the charge almost the same discounts
as for paper books...) Or should we try to sell it directly?
I feel selling directly should be fine, as the softcopy is meant for users who could not buy the hardcopy otherwise. Ebook stores might be suited for books expecting a higher softcopy sales percentage. Just my opinion.
- Which format should we use? (pdf, html, ?)
My choice would be pdf.
- The obvious question: how can we avoid/reduce illegal proliferation
of copies?
Thats tough. Most book publishers like Pragmatic Programmers add the buyer's information in the footer. That should make the buyer think twice before sharing their copy. Most of the technical books are now available in soft copy format, probably that suggests that illegal sharing doesnot affect the sales to a large extent. Again, just my thought.
Cheers,
GG

Currently it is not available in ebook format. We we would like to
offer it, but we could not decide some questions.
