Yes, basically, that's the intent.
That, and the fact that I found this amusing, given that Lua is highly
praised for its design (ignoring those complaining it isn't C-like
enough...), from newbies and from very experienced and smart/savvy people.

That's very true. I didn't saw lot of complains on Whitespace language...
