- Subject: Ann: LuaSDL resurrected, at 0.3.0

Hi all,
[First and final announcement for LuaSDL on this list]
http://www.luaforge.net/projects/luasdl/
LuaSDL is a [mostly] tolua++ binding for the SDL, SDL_image,
SDL_mixer, SDL_net and SDL_ttf libraries for Lua 5.1. It
supersedes Thatcher Ulrich's LuaSDL, which is no longer actively
worked upon. I have also obtained permission from Thatcher Ulrich
to use the name, so this is not a coup d'etat. :-)
Since there are a whole bunch of similar OSS scripting frameworks,
some very powerful, it will be pointless to push LuaSDL into that
territory. Instead, LuaSDL is a minimal system, with a codebase
that uses the same kind of license as Lua 5.
Version 0.3.0 is a [mostly] working binding for Win32 (MinGW), but
the codebase itself is cross-platform. Linux binaries are a gleam
in the eye for now. Thatcher Ulrich's Meteor Shower is included,
and most of SDL, SDL_image, SDL_mixer and SDL_ttf works. The
aliens SDL demo has also been ported to LuaSDL. Not everything has
been straightened out yet; feedback welcome.
