One strict answer can be enough to everyone? Think no, but if yes, can someone just say "well... no." and finish this (multi-thread) pointless noise? Open one IRC channel and chat about that. And please... behavior, gentleman's (and Lady's, i presume).
By the way, Java, Perl, Ruby, VB, Delphi, C (ANSI or not), C++, etc, etc... aren't Lua. If they do what you need (and make Lua do the same thing isn't in your todo list), pick the one who best fit your needs and be happy! That is why we have soooo many languages. Squeeze the Lua team will not help you. If you need an employee, well... hire one!
