Patrick, please note that it's about a course titled "Scripting for Security". You're pulling the discussion off course to something that is somewhat off-topic to this list. While we appreciate your enthusiasm, bending the topic in your direction is akin to hijacking the thread for your own interests -- which is rude to the original poster and distracts from those who are trying to conduct an on-topic discussion.
Note that the course is not about learning the languages. It should be more in the lines of security methods in languages, e.g. doing sandboxing or how Blizzard would want to use Lua in a secure way, to use a practical example. See the wiki page provided by David Manura.
