Exactly, it's larger than Lua ;)

De gustibus non disputandum, as they used to say, but personally PCRE
in full flight reminds me of those little competitions we used to have
with APL  to see how much functionality we could cram into one line of
Klingon.

PEG is more general, and lpeg is more readable.

And no, it does not hurt to use a few more lines, because readability
is the essence of maintainability.
