Things may have changed since, but when I came to adore and admire Lua, not all that many years after it grew beyond a data definition language, it spent years always getting faster, smaller, or more powerful at every step, without growing more complex, and never giving up any ground. I've never had the courage to try to gainsay an architectural design process that good.
