Just one thing Jay.
variable sqlite created by this call:
local sqlite = require("lsqlite3")
is not a function it is the Lua table contaning functions and global variables
so you can't call it as:
sqlite()
instead try something like this
local sqlite = require("lsqlite3")
local db = sqlite.open("data.db")
... etc, etc,
here is documentation:
http://keplerproject.github.io/luasql/manual.html
all drivers including sqlite3 uses common luasql inteface
I.
