AFAIK, sending an email to lua-l+subscribe@googlegroups.com should
work from any email. I tried it just now, and it replied me that I am
already subscribed (which was true, as I had already accepted the
invite sent by Luiz).

But I have a google account and use gmail for my email. People with no
Google account should make a test and report back.
