As you say, it sounds that you want to "build" a configuration and make
"lua" magically configure your application.
Lua is a language itself...
So, you must cannot take a program built in C, make a couple of lua
scripts and think that they automagically glue themselves.
I advice you to start reading first the:

what does dynamic loading support mean?
so let me get this straight... lua apllies the new configurations one
has made but calling out the C and C++ functions side of the original
programming language, am i correct?
and how can you access lua from C?
