Operator lexical class

When it comes to extending Lua with new operators
has any consideration been given to specifying
the lexical class from which operator names are
to be taken, as Haskell does? I do not suppose that
extending Lua with new operators is something for
which there is a frenzy of demand, but it might be
useful to have compatibility guidelines laid down
and some more abstraction in the lexer.
