Even if one could get to them easily, those sources are not written for
novices. Either the Wikipedia articles starting from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_floating-point_standard
or the Goldberg article I referenced in a previous post are preferable.
Very refreshing too is

with lots of material, some contributed by bright students.
