what they are saying is that if you do a program/editor that might compete with them, they will block/ban it. they are giving two choices either html/css webapp or xcode. any other innovation will be banned.

Really? Did HTML5, CSS, and _javascript_ all originate from Apple? (Did you actually read the letter?)
